& About History in the Making

We are Linda & Robert “Bert” Straub. We were born in and currently reside in Erie, Pa.

We found each other at the Erie First Assembly church & blended our families in July of 2004.

We have both been given a great passion for wood and preserving things from the past.

We have been blessed with the passion to renew the old.
As in
2 Cor. 4:16

Though outwardly we are wasting away,
yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

Our business started as a concept in 2005.
Following God’s will is making it a reality everyday.

"I love the God given ability to handcraft meaningful creations and bless people with them! This business is based on setting aside what society deems as successful and following where my heart leads me while using the talents I have been blessed with to affect others in a positive way."
Follow where your heart leads you - Linda Straub

We are meeting so many wonderful people on our Journey. People willing to share their family history with us in regards to their barns and personal items
so that we can preserve their memories for years to come.

* Thanks to all who have been put on our path & shared with us. *

It has been quite a journey already

About History in the Making
What makes us different?
The "History in the Making"
Some of our creations are from century old barns that we have excavated, some are made from reclaimed wood from various parts of the world. Some creations we make with personal items from our clients (see our custom orders page). Each piece has some significance or history behind it. When you purchase one of our creations, it includes a description of the type of wood it was made with and the history behind it.
You can also visit our wood types page to see the description and history
behind each of the different woods we use. So you are not only getting a unique handcrafted creation, but you are also getting a piece of the history, a connection with the piece, for you to keep or share with someone else.
If the piece is a customized creation we make for you with something personal, then you have a keepsake for years to come with special meaning.

**We love to do custom creations **
For that unique one of a kind gift for yourself or someone else
With our materials or something that you may have that is
special or historical in some way.
See our custom orders page for more details

Do you have something of special meaning laying around the house?
An old crib, table, chair or even scraps of wood?
Lets make them into meaningful jewelry or something functional
to preserve those memories!

Have you been on or soon going on vacation?
Lets take that those special pieces of glass, stone or shells that you found
on the beach and make a memorable keepsake for you.

Check out our
Natura Jewelry line and see how pieces of wood
can become beautiful  and unique pieces of Jewelry with meaning.

Some day America's original barns will be extinct. Some day many of the exotic woods we enjoy will be untouchable. These creations are preserving a piece of the past for years to come.

In addition these items are handmade in the USA supporting
our countries small businesses!
How much more
meaningful and worth your money is it to have something
that you can connect with in some way rather than something
everyone else has that is made in China?

We are doing our best to try and care for the earth that we have been blessed with.
By encouraging people to reuse things they might have
to be made into new creations, less is ending up in landfills.
Each creation that we make with our own wood or stones
is made with reclaimed  pieces of nature
that would have other wise been discarded or useless,
thus decreasing waste and supporting recycling and reusing.

Thank you for reading about us and our passion.
